I've been taking a look at the M-Wave Foldable Bike Trailer and have been looking for a good reason to try it out. At the end of an early morning group ride, I came upon the local farmers' market. Perfect. I continued home, ditched the road bike, grabbed the newly built-up '83 Raleigh commuter and set up the trailer to go get a load of fresh produce.
The market chok-full of natural goodies.
I was prepared to load up the trailer with Earth's great bounty, but it turns out I had more trailer than cargo. Overkill would be a suitable term. It probably would have been a better test if I had loaded it up with watermelons, but my legs thank me for going light.

Seeing Ghosts of Riders Past
I had a chance to hang out with (but declined to be interviewed by) Meaghan Wilbur who is filming a feature length documentary on ghost bikes around the country. Ghost bikes are monuments that honor cyclists killed by vehicles on our city streets. She was filming at the Chicago Ride of Silence May 19th, a somber ride which paused at a number of ghost bikes. Although there were around 250 cyclists participating, it was dead silent throughout the ride. A video preview of the unfinished film, Ghost Bikes Film: Portland to London, is available here.
